Bisbis Guide: Fill the Grid With Cats Across 500 Levels

Bisbis is a calm tiling puzzle. You get a grid of empty squares and a tray of cats underneath, each cat shaped like a different block of joined squares. Your job is to cover every square of the grid with cats, with no two cats overlapping and no square left empty.

There are 500 levels across five Egyptian-themed worlds of 100 levels each: the Alley, the Rooftops, the Corniche, Khan el-Khalili and the Pyramids. Grids grow and shapes get trickier as you go, and every so often a new cat joins your album.

How to play

  1. Open the first unlocked level. On level 1 a small hand shows you how to drag your first cat.
  2. Drag a cat from the tray and drop it over empty squares. If it does not fit there, it slides back to the tray on its own.
  3. You can pick up any cat already on the board and move it if it is blocking others.
  4. From level 61 cats can rotate: tap a cat once to turn it, which gives every shape more possible positions.
  5. The level ends the moment the last square is filled and your stars appear. Stuck? The hint button sits next to the level number, and Skip is in the pause menu.

Scoring and rewards

Stars have nothing to do with speed, only with hints: no hint earns 3 stars, one hint 2, more than one 1. The server counts the hints tied to your run.

A hint costs 5 coins and places one cat correctly, usually starting with the biggest. If your current layout cannot lead to a solution, it first removes the cat that is in the way. Skipping a level costs 15 coins and unlocks the next one.

Your first clear of a level adds board points and coins (2, 3 or 5 by stars), and every tenth level has a chest with extra coins and doubled points. Replays only add points if you improve your stars, and HTML games share a daily cap on points and coins.

Tips and strategies

  • Place the big or oddly shaped cats first; small ones are easy to squeeze in at the end.
  • Look at corners and edges early, since few shapes fit there.
  • If a single empty square gets boxed in with no cat that size left, rearrange its neighbours instead of pushing on.
  • In rotating levels, try every orientation before deciding a cat does not fit.
  • If you plan to use a hint, use it early. It places a large cat and saves you the most thinking.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a timer in Bisbis?
No clock is pushing you. Take your time; stars are based only on the number of hints you use.
What is the difference between a hint and a skip?
A hint places one cat correctly and lowers your stars. A skip unlocks the next level without solving the current one.
How does the cat album fill up?
When you reach certain levels a New cat joined message appears and that cat is added to your album. There are 27 cats spread across the 500 levels.
