TIMOZ

4 Pics 1 English Word Guide: Play and Learn Words

4 Pics 1 English Word is the English edition of the four-pictures idea. Four pictures all describe one English word, and you spell that word with the English letter tiles below the answer boxes.

The game is designed for playing and learning at the same time, so there is no timer at all. Take your time, think of the word in your own language first if that helps, then look for the English equivalent. It is a solo game: either a quick run of 6 puzzles, or a campaign of sections and levels that unlock one after another.

How to play

  1. Look at the four pictures and think of one English word that fits them all.
  2. Count the boxes to know how many letters the word has.
  3. Tap the English letter tiles to fill the boxes in order.
  4. Fill every box and send your answer.
  5. Wrong? Fix it and try again as often as you like; no clock is running.
  6. Stuck? Ask for a hint. You can take up to 3 hints on a single puzzle.
  7. In a level, solve every puzzle correctly to pass it and unlock the next one.

Scoring and rewards

Each correct word is worth 10 points. With no timer there is no speed bonus, and a wrong attempt costs nothing. Hints never touch your score; each one costs 5 coins from your wallet instead.

Level stars depend on how many hints you used: the fewer hints, the more stars, up to 3. Clearing a level for the first time pays 2 to 5 coins depending on your stars, while replays pay none. A quick run pays 1 coin, and every finished run also earns XP toward your player level.

Tips and strategies

  • Translate the idea, not the pictures: sun, heat and summer might be HOT or SUN depending on the box count.
  • Remember the answer may be a verb or an adjective, not only the name of an object.
  • For longer words, test common endings such as ING, ER or LY against the tiles you have.
  • Do not rush for a hint. There is no clock, and every hint lowers your level stars and costs coins.
  • Keep a short list of new words you meet; growing your English vocabulary is half the point.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a time limit?
No. There is no timer, and you can keep trying until you find the word.
Do hints cost coins?
Yes, 5 coins each. Coins are in-game only and have no money value. A new account starts with 20.
What is the difference between a quick run and levels?
A quick run is 6 puzzles you can play any time for 1 coin. Levels are ordered in sections; you must solve every puzzle in a level to unlock the next, and the first clear pays stars and more coins.
Can I play with friends?
This one is solo only. To challenge friends, try the Arabic Four Pics One Word in a private room.
