Guess the Player Guide: Name the Star From His Photo
Guess the Player is made for football fans. A player's photo appears, and you have to recognise him and spell his name before the timer ends. The photos cover stars from Egypt and around the world: some you watch every week, some you will have to dig for.
You can play a quick solo game, the Daily challenge, a private room of up to 8 friends or a friend challenge, and the game also appears inside Battle Mix. There is a campaign too, with sections of players, a section of club crests and a small section of coaches, each with levels that unlock in order.
Play Guess the PlayerHow to play
- Study the photo: the face, the shirt and any detail that might trigger the name.
- Count the boxes. A name can be one word or several, and the gaps between words show in the boxes.
- Tap letters in order to spell the name. Some tiles are extras that do not belong to it.
- As soon as every box is filled, your answer is checked automatically.
- If you are wrong or time runs out, the correct name is shown and the next player appears.
- A game has 6 players, with 30 seconds for each.
Scoring and rewards
A correct name earns 10 points plus a speed bonus of up to 5 that fades as time passes, so the best result for one player is 15. A wrong answer scores zero, with no penalty. This mode has no hints, so it is all about your football memory.
In campaign levels you must name every player correctly for the level to count and unlock the next; miss just one and the level stays locked until you replay it. A first clear pays 2 to 5 coins, the Daily pays 5 and winning a room pays 5. Every finished game also earns XP, about 10 per correct answer.
Tips and strategies
- Start from the name the player is famous by. Some are known by a first name or a nickname, and the box count tells you which.
- The shirt or badge in the photo points to the club or national team, which narrows the name down.
- Look for rare letters in the tile bank; they are often the key to the name.
- Do not freeze on an uncertain letter. Finish the word you know first and let the remaining tiles reveal the rest.
- When playing levels, slow down a little: a single mistake means replaying the whole level.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I play with friends?
- Yes. Open a private room for up to 8 players or send a friend a challenge. The game is also part of Battle Mix.
- Are there hints?
- No, Guess the Player has none. If you like clues, try Who Is the Player?, which reveals facts about a player one at a time.
- What if time runs out before I finish the name?
- The player scores zero with no penalty, his correct name is shown so you remember it next time, and the next player appears.
- Why did the next level not unlock?
- A level only counts when every answer in it is correct, so replay it until you get a clean run.
