Missing Sequence Guide: Spot the Pattern, Fill the Gap
Missing Sequence is a calm pattern puzzle. You see a row of cells that follows a rule, and one of them is marked "?". Your task is to work out the rule and choose, from four options, the item that completes it.
Questions come in three kinds: number sequences (steady steps, multiplication, alternating patterns), picture sequences of familiar things like a cup, a car or the moon repeating in a set order, and sequences of symbols and shapes. It is a solo game built on levels, each one a little harder than the last.
Play Missing SequenceHow to play
- Read the sequence in order and find the gap. It can be at the start, in the middle or at the end.
- Compare each pair of neighbouring cells and ask what changed. Did the number grow? Did a picture come back? Did a shape turn?
- Tap the choice that completes the pattern. You get one try, you see at once whether you were right, and the correct answer is shown briefly before the next question.
- There is no timer at all, so think it through. If you are stuck you can buy up to three hints per question, 5 coins each.
- A level has 20 questions. Get at least 15 right to unlock the next level.
Scoring and rewards
Each correct answer is worth 10 points and 10 XP. There is no speed bonus because the game is untimed, and wrong answers cost nothing. Hints are paid from your coin wallet and never touch your score.
Stars depend on your share of correct answers in the level. Your first clear of a level pays 2, 3 or 5 coins depending on stars, and replays pay no coins, so aim for three stars on your first attempt.
Tips and strategies
- Start with the difference between neighbouring numbers. If the differences themselves grow, the pattern lives in the differences.
- For picture sequences, count the cycle length: how many pictures before the order starts again. Once you know it, the gap fills itself.
- For symbols, track one property at a time: direction first, then count, then colour or shape.
- Test each choice inside the whole sequence. A wrong option usually fits one step but breaks the rule somewhere else.
- Hints are graded: the first tells you what to look at, the third nearly gives you the rule. Buy one at a time.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a time limit?
- No, the whole game is untimed. Take your time, but each question allows only one try.
- How many correct answers do I need to pass a level?
- Fifteen out of twenty unlocks the next level.
- Do hints reduce my points?
- No. A hint costs 5 coins from your wallet, and a correct answer still scores in full.
