Riddles Guide: Traps, Hints and the Daily Riddle

Riddles is a family thinking game written in everyday Egyptian Arabic. Every riddle has four choices: the right answer, a trap built to catch anyone who reads too fast, a plausible but wrong option, and usually a joke answer to make you smile.

The riddles are grouped into sections: trick questions, numbers, everyday objects, family relations, Ramadan riddles, and the rhyming Fawazeer section. Each section is made of levels of 10 riddles, and finishing one level opens the next. There is also a daily riddle, one fresh riddle per day that you can share with friends.

Players: Solo or multiplayer · 1–8 players

How to play

  1. Pick a section and a level, then read the whole riddle. Think about the meaning, not the surface wording, because the trap always plays on a quick read.
  2. Tap one of the four answers. You get one try; afterwards the correct answer appears with a short explanation of the trick.
  3. In the regular sections nothing times you out, but a correct answer within the first 10 seconds earns the full speed bonus.
  4. Stuck? Buy a hint for 5 coins, or use Remove two or Ask the crowd, each once per level.
  5. In the Fawazeer section clues appear gradually, one every 12 seconds, and there is a real 45-second limit. The earlier you answer, with fewer clues shown, the more you score.

Scoring and rewards

A correct answer is worth 10 points plus a speed bonus of up to 5. In Fawazeer the value drops with each extra clue: 10, then 8, 6 and 4 points. Wrong answers cost nothing, and hints come out of your coin wallet, never your score. In rooms with friends a hint costs 15 coins and you can buy one per question.

Stars depend on how many riddles you got right, but using Remove two or Ask the crowd caps a level at two stars. Your first clear of a level pays 2, 3 or 5 coins depending on stars; replays pay no coins. Each correct answer gives 10 XP, and finishing the daily riddle pays 5 coins.

Tips and strategies

  • Read every riddle twice. Trick questions like "you overtake the runner in second place, where are you now?" have a tempting answer that is wrong.
  • Cross out the joke answer first, leaving only three real candidates.
  • Remove two takes away two wrong answers but always leaves the trap, so compare the last two carefully.
  • For family-relation riddles, build the family tree in your head and walk it one step at a time.
  • In Fawazeer, answer as soon as the picture forms in your mind; every new clue lowers your points.

Frequently asked questions

What is the daily riddle?
One riddle that changes every day for all players. Solve it, share your result, and earn 5 coins for finishing.
Can I try again after a wrong answer?
No, each riddle allows one attempt. You will see the right answer and its explanation, and you can replay the level later.
Do hints lower my score?
No, a hint only costs coins. Remove two and Ask the crowd are different: they stop you earning the third star on that level.
