Seven Words Guide: Solve the Board From Letter Pieces

Seven Words is a calm word puzzle that rewards thinking over speed. Each board shows seven clues, every clue describes one word, and next to it you see how many letters that word has. Below the clues sits a pile of scrambled letter pieces, and each of the seven answers is built from a few of them.

The twist is that all seven clues share the same pieces, and each piece is used exactly once. Every word you solve removes its pieces from the board, so the leftovers keep shrinking and getting clearer. The game is organised into many levels grouped in sections. You can play solo, take the Daily challenge, or open a private room where up to 8 friends race on the same board, each on their own phone.

Players: Solo or multiplayer · 1–8 players

How to play

  1. Open a level and read all seven clues, noting the letter count beside each one.
  2. Pick a clue and tap pieces in order to build its word in the strip under the clues.
  3. Send the word. If it is right, the clue locks and its pieces disappear from the bank.
  4. If it is wrong, the word shakes and nothing is deducted. Clear it and try another combination.
  5. Truly stuck? Tap the bulb and it places the opening part of a word for you, for coins.
  6. Solve all seven clues to finish the board, which also unlocks the next level.

Scoring and rewards

Each solved clue is worth 10 points, so a complete board is worth 70. The board has no timer. To pass a level you must solve all seven words; six out of seven keeps the next level locked.

Stars depend on the bulbs you used: none earns 3 stars, up to two keeps 2 stars, and up to four keeps 1 star. A bulb costs 5 coins in solo play and the Daily, and 15 coins in a room.

Clearing a level for the first time pays 2, 3 or 5 coins depending on your stars. Finishing the Daily pays 5 coins, and in a room the winner earns 5 while every other finisher earns 1. You also collect XP for every correct word.

Tips and strategies

  • Start with the clue you are surest of, even if it is not the first. Every solved word removes pieces and makes the rest easier.
  • Use the letter count as a filter: a three-letter word rarely needs more than two pieces, so look for short combinations.
  • With two or three clues left, few pieces remain. Try sharing them out across the remaining words instead of staring at one clue.
  • Pieces such as "ال", "ات" or "ون" usually sit at the start or end of a word, so try them in their natural spot first.
  • Save the bulb for last. Solving a board without help gives 3 stars and the biggest first-clear reward.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a timer in Seven Words?
No. The seven-clue board is untimed, so you can think and retry as much as you like without losing points.
What happens when I send a wrong word?
It just shakes. There is no penalty, the pieces return, and you can try again straight away.
What exactly does the bulb do?
It places the beginning of a clue's word for you and takes its price from your coin wallet. Each bulb also lowers the stars you can earn on that level.
