Shai Guide: Draw One Line and Pour Tea Up to the Mark
Shai is a physics puzzle. A pot pours from the top of the screen and one or more glasses wait below, each with a fill mark. You never move the pot or the glass; you draw a single line with your finger, and the liquid runs along it like a slide until it lands in the glass.
There are 60 levels in three worlds: the Café, where you pour tea, the Juice Shop with sugar-cane juice, and Hibiscus. As you progress, obstacles appear: fixed planks, round objects like lemons and sugar bowls, spinning spoons, trays that slide left and right, seesaws, and sometimes a glass that can be pushed or tipped.
Play ShaiHow to play
- Study the level first: where the pot is, where the glass is, and what stands in the way.
- Draw one line with your finger. Ink is limited, and the bar at the top shrinks as you draw to show how much is left.
- Lift your finger and the liquid starts pouring straight away along your line. In some levels the line is heavy and falls with gravity, and some areas do not allow drawing.
- If every glass fills up to its mark, you win. If the liquid settles or spills before that, you lose and can try again immediately.
- The retry button next to the ink bar gives you a fresh attempt for free. The hint sits beside it, and Skip is in the pause menu.
Scoring and rewards
Stars (1 to 3) are based on how long your line is compared to the shortest known solution. The small stars on the ink bar show, while you draw, the point where you would drop a star, so you can keep it short before lifting your finger.
A hint costs 5 coins and draws the solution line on screen, and it stays visible for that level even after a retry. Skipping costs 15 coins and unlocks the next level.
Your first clear of a level adds board points and coins (2, 3 or 5 by stars), and every tenth level brings a chest of extra coins and doubled points. Replays count only if you improve your stars, and HTML games share a daily cap on points and coins.
Tips and strategies
- A simple slanted line usually beats lots of curves, and it uses less ink.
- End your line right above the mouth of the glass so the liquid does not splash out.
- When a level has a moving tray or a spinning spoon, use it instead of fighting it.
- Clear the level with any line first, then come back and try a shorter one for 3 stars.
- If a glass can be pushed, let the liquid drop in gently rather than hitting it from the side.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I draw more than one line?
- No, one line per attempt. If you do not like it, tap retry and draw again for free.
- Does a hint lower my stars?
- Stars come from the length of your own line. The hint shows the way, but you still draw it.
- Why did I lose when tea went into the glass?
- Every glass has to reach its mark. If the pour runs out or stops short, the attempt counts as a loss.
