Wasla Guide: Type-the-Answer General Knowledge
Wasla is a general-knowledge quiz with a harder twist than multiple choice: there are no options on screen, so you type the answer yourself. That leaves no room for guessing by elimination; either you know it or you do not.
Questions range across many areas of general culture, and the answer is usually a single word or a short name. You can play solo, take the Daily challenge, open a private room for up to 8 friends, and Wasla also shows up in Battle Mix rounds. A full game takes about three minutes.
Play WaslaHow to play
- Pick how to play: solo, Daily, or create a room and share its code with friends.
- Each round shows one question, and you have 30 seconds to answer it.
- Type the answer on the in-game keyboard. You can switch between Arabic letters, Latin letters and digits.
- Send your answer. You get one attempt per question, so check what you typed before sending.
- A right answer scores points; a wrong answer or a timeout shows you the correct one.
- After 6 questions you see your total, and in a room you see where you rank among friends.
Scoring and rewards
Each correct answer is worth 10 points plus a speed bonus of up to 5 that shrinks as time passes, so the most one question can pay is 15. Wrong answers and silence score zero, never negative. Wasla has no hints.
Answer checking forgives small spelling differences: diacritics are ignored, alef and hamza forms count as the same letter, ta marbuta matches ha, ya matches alef maqsura, and a leading "ال" does not matter.
Solo play earns a coin if you get at least one question right, finishing the Daily pays 5 coins, and in a room the winner earns 5 while every other finisher earns 1. Every correct answer also earns XP.
Tips and strategies
- Type the shortest well-known form of the answer. A city or person's familiar name beats a long full name.
- Do not waste time on hamzas or diacritics. The checker ignores them, and speed is what earns the bonus.
- If the answer is a number, switch to the digit keys straight away instead of spelling it out.
- If unsure, type your best guess before time runs out. A wrong answer and silence both score zero, so trying costs nothing.
- Pay attention to the correct answer shown when you miss. Quiz topics come back, and that fact may help you later.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Wasla multiple choice?
- No. You type the answer yourself on the game keyboard; there are no options to pick from.
- Will my answer count if I skip the hamza?
- Yes. Alef and hamza forms are treated as one letter, and diacritics are ignored.
- Can I try more than once on a question?
- No. Each question allows one attempt, after which the correct answer is shown.
