Would You Rather Guide: Choose, Then See Your Friends' Picks
Would You Rather is a light party game with no right or wrong answers. Each round shows a question with two to four options, and everyone picks the one they prefer on their own phone. The fun starts after the vote, when you see who chose what and the debating, teasing and defending begins.
You need 2 to 8 players in a private room, each on their own device. A game is 6 rounds by default, with 30 seconds per round. It can also turn up as part of a Battle Mix alongside other games.
Play Would You RatherHow to play
- The host creates a room and shares the code or QR, and everyone joins from their phone and taps Ready.
- The host taps Start, and the first question appears for everyone at the same moment.
- Read the question and the options, then tap the card you prefer. That tap is your vote; there is no confirm button.
- A vote cannot be changed once it is sent, so think for a second before you tap.
- The round ends when everyone has voted or the 30 seconds run out. Then each option shows its number of votes, its share of the table and the names of the players who chose it.
Scoring and rewards
Nothing is scored for the choice itself, because there is no right answer. The app does not judge your taste; it just shows the votes. Nobody wins at anyone else's expense, and the point is getting to know each other better.
Playing a room gives a small coin to every player who voted and stayed to the end. Coins are only for play inside TIMOZ and have no money value. When the game appears inside a Battle Mix, rewards are worked out once, on the standings of the whole mix.
Tips and strategies
- After each result, ask whoever picked the least popular option why. That is the best part of the game.
- Do not try to guess what the majority will pick. Choose what you really prefer, or the game loses its flavour.
- When a question has more than two options, read them all before tapping, since your vote is final.
- Use it at family gatherings as a conversation starter; the questions are suitable for all ages.
- If someone is slow, the 30-second timer closes the round anyway, so nobody holds up the table.
- Have everyone say their pick out loud before the result appears, then see who changes their story once the names are shown.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a correct answer?
- Not at all. Every option is right if you mean it, and the app never shows correct or wrong.
- Can everyone see what I picked?
- Yes, once the round ends the names of the players behind each option are shown. Until then nobody sees anyone's vote.
- Can I play it alone?
- No. It is a group game played in a room, and it needs at least two players, each on their own phone.
- What happens if I do not vote in a round?
- The round closes when the timer runs out, your vote is simply missing from the result, and you carry on as normal in the next round.
